Boredom: smoking

According to all the timelines (like this one), I should be enjoying the expulsion of the remaining carcinogens as I have refrained from smoking since Saturday morning.

And I am. Truly, I am enjoying it. Granted, I smoke American Spirit ultra lights. I don’t feel like I had much, really, to lose. I certainly am not going through the DT’s that people describe on such websites as above. I haven’t felt, really any shocks or headaches, or nausea.

I’m just bored.

    Heading to a They Might Be Giants show at Peabody’s, 1990. My friend John has a cigarette and says to me “Battles, you should never smoke, because any time you’re waiting around for anything to happen, you’ll say to yourself ‘man I wish I had a cigarette.”
